My story.
what inspired this Romeoville Massage Therapist
The clients are the best part of my job. I get so much joy from seeing how happy they are just walking in and how much better they feel once their service is complete. I truly love my job.
-Ruth
When I was a child, my mom would occasionally come home from work with a splitting headache. I would massage her temples until she drifted off to sleep. At such a young age, I felt truly empowered being able to care for someone that usually cared for me and it brought me a lot of joy to see that I had actually helped her. At 16, I stumbled onto a magazine article about massage therapy in the neonatal intensive care unit and the outcomes for babies that received therapeutic touch. I had never even heard of “massage therapy” and instantly knew this was my calling in life.
In 1999, I started massage school and began working as a massage therapist shortly after. After working for several years, a lack of proper self-care led to an injury and I left the industry to heal and raise children. I missed being a massage therapist and always knew I wanted to get back into that field, but it was a long time before I gained the courage to get my massage therapy license and start over.
I truly love being a massage therapist and enjoy learning the different ways massage can help people and will be a lifelong student of massage therapy. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of working with people that have many different needs and goals in a variety of settings. Through my experiences and continued research, I have found myself drawn to open my own business so that I can focus on the type of work I am most passionate about.
My passion
There is not one person that has not been affected by stress. Some of us experience more stress than others and some are better at coping with it. But stress can have a huge impact on our physical and mental wellbeing and daily life. I have seen and experienced the influence therapeutic touch can have on our nervous system and am passionate about the roll massage therapy can play in helping people improve their quality of life.
This is what inspired this massage therapist to open my own massage business here in Romeoville. The focus at Thrive Therapeutic Massage is on alleviating the impacts of stress and improving overall wellness for our clients. Everything has been designed with this goal in mind, from the services to the environment to the scheduling and payment process. At Thrive Therapeutic Massage, you can receive the mental and physical rest you need to reset and recharge.
